Position Title: Buyer
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, results-driven Buyer who is ready to take ownership and make an impact.
In this role, you will drive procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships, and ensure materials flow seamlessly to production. You’ll play a critical role in balancing cost, quality, and delivery—while helping us continuously improve our supply chain.
What You’ll Do
As a Buyer at Twin Disc, you will:
- Own procurement for assigned materials and commodities to support production
- Ensure material availability and proactively resolve supply chain risks
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships, holding vendors accountable
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and agreements to drive cost savings
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement or re-sourcing strategies
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
- Use ERP tools (JDE or similar) to analyze supply/demand and drive decisions
- Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, invoicing, and inventory
- Support inventory optimization and cost reduction initiatives
- Contribute insights in cross-functional and Daily Management meetings
- Partner on engineering changes (ECNs) and sourcing decisions
- Travel occasionally to supplier sites to strengthen relationships
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, or related field
- Experience in purchasing or supply chain (manufacturing preferred)
- ERP experience (JDE strongly preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred:
- CPIM or CPM certification
- Proven negotiation success
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience driving supplier performance improvements
