Aftermarket Business Manager

Twin Disc is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Aftermarket Business Manager to lead the growth, profitability, and operational excellence of our aftermarket parts business. This role is responsible for the development and execution of strategic business plans, management of warehouse operations, and leadership of cross-functional initiatives to meet customer demand and financial goals.

The ideal candidate will combine strong business acumen, operational expertise, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement, optimize inventory and supply chain performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Management

  • Develop and execute the Aftermarket Strategic Plan and Annual Business Plan aligned with the long-range plan (LRP)
  • Analyze economic conditions, industry trends, and product lifecycle data to guide business decisions
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable production, procurement, and staffing plans

Financial & Performance Leadership

  • Manage the aftermarket business to achieve profitability and growth targets
  • Develop and oversee sales forecasts, operating budgets, and capital plans
  • Evaluate and adjust strategies in response to market and economic changes
  • Understand and manage business decisions with a clear P&L impact

Sales, Marketing & Pricing Strategy

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop pricing models, discount structures, and go-to-market strategies
  • Manage multiple sales channels including distribution, OEM, subsidiaries, and end users
  • Implement programs such as competitive pricing, quantity discounts, and emergency order policies

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead the development of detailed aftermarket sales forecasts
  • Align demand plans with manufacturing capacity, procurement strategies, and workforce needs

Inventory & Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee the aftermarket warehouse and inventory control functions
  • Establish stocking policies and material planning processes
  • Ensure accurate inventory, efficient operations, and high service levels while optimizing working capital

Supply Chain & Procurement

  • Direct procurement and material planning activities to meet customer and production needs
  • Balance material availability with inventory cost control

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and processes
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of material handling systems

Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly manage a team of 2–10 employees and indirectly oversee up to 30 staff members
  • Lead hiring, training, performance management, and employee development
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork aligned with Twin Disc core values

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across operations, sales, and finance
  • Participate in customer visits and business reviews as needed
  • Present business performance and strategic plans to leadership

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field required
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Prior P&L responsibility strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Forecasting and demand planning
    • Inventory management and supply chain operations
    • Costing and financial analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems (JDE Oracle preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Knowledge

  • Familiarity with aftermarket business models
  • Knowledge of Twin Disc products, markets, and customer base (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Experience with pricing strategies and inventory optimization
