Position Overview

The Hybrid Application Engineer is responsible for the application of hybrid and electrification products across all Twin Disc markets. This role serves as the primary technical point of contact for customers, working closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify customer requirements and specify the appropriate hybrid and electrification solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in power electronics and electrified systems with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ensuring every application meets or exceeds customer expectations throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept through production and beyond.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main technical liaison between customers and internal teams for hybrid and electrification applications
  • Translate customer requirements into optimized technical solutions using Twin Disc products
  • Approve applications and accessory requirements through engineering analysis and calculations
  • Support sales teams by providing application guidance, technical documentation, and customer presentations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and sales on new and existing applications
  • Provide technical support to customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders on product use, operation, and maintenance
  • Support development and release of new products, including prototypes and field testing
  • Assist with initial installations to ensure proper operation and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate and recommend vendors from a technical standpoint
  • Maintain continuous communication with customers to ensure long-term satisfaction and performance
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product application and/or design
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Power electronics
    • Motor control systems
    • Electric machines
    • Control systems with power electronic components
  • Familiarity with electrical single-line (one-line) diagrams
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems (approximately 300V–1500V)
  • Understanding of energy storage systems for mobile equipment
  • Familiarity with compliance standards for power electronics and high-voltage safety
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (O365)
