Position Summary
Twin Disc is seeking a Controls Field Engineer to join our team in Mount Pleasant, WI. In this role, you will configure and develop application‑specific control systems—primarily at customer sites—while also supporting the design, analysis, testing, and maintenance of control systems for existing products. This position blends hands‑on field work with engineering development and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and support control systems across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic applications
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans
- Evaluate hardware and software deviation requests and recommend design improvements
- Draft product modifications and create Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Perform root cause analysis and help introduce new technologies into products
- Provide engineering support for Production and Product Service teams
- Test software and hardware systems and author associated test reports
- Maintain professional and technical expertise through ongoing training and industry publications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience (10+ years in a related field)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with editors, compilers, revision control tools, and PLM/PDM systems
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Working knowledge of embedded systems and programming languages such as C, VB.NET, and C#
- Understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with data acquisition equipment and CAN communications (SAE J1939)
- Valid passport and willingness to travel
